Pesion Filip must be the hottest insider tip
in all of Prague as far as nice small hotels and pensions go.
Imersed in green, Pension Filip is on one of
the nine hills surrounding Prague and is only about 2 km from Prague
center.
The Prague castle and Hradcany are about 1 km
away and you get a nice view on some parts of Prague from some of
this small hotel's windows.
It's got its own locked parking space with camera
supervision and is the perfect location if you are coming with or
without a car to Prague.
A taxi to Prague center will cost you about
Euro 5.
Although there is a road leading past the pension
it's pretty quiet and with double glazing the rooms are a morgue
at night.
Sattelite TV, telephone, radio in all rooms
and cold beer is available on request at the reception fridge bar.
Most rooms are double, tripple or quadruple
rooms each with bathroom, gigantic wardrobes and a comfortable interior.
The service is very good and if you like sleeping
late the room lady won't wake you up nor make noize during the morning
cleaning of the other rooms.
You can sit outside under the greenery and you'd
never believe you were in Prague.
It's possible to connect to the internet from
each room but you must get a special adapter - and some of them
must be chiselled with a pocket knife to fit - but you can buy these
in most electrical stores and five minutes of chisseling will get
them to fit.
The whole set up is very peaceful and ideal
for the single business man, the romantic couple, and even a large
family as some rooms have several beds on raised platforms - great
for the kids.
There is no parrot around (see Pension logo
above) and the owners explained to us that the pension is named
after their son.
What more could one want ?
The hustle and bustle of Prague City below to then escape back to
this pleasant sanctuary.
Oh yeah... did we mention that a double room
taken as a single room costs Euro 34 per night ?
This is great pricing for the standard offered.
